Backstory

The first time Fawaz Tawil saw a life saved in the back of an ambulance, she knew she had found her calling. She had been volunteering at a local clinic, but the chaos and immediacy of emergency medicine called to her. She chose to leave her comfortable life in the city to train as a paramedic, much to her family's dismay. She keeps a small, worn photograph of that first patient in her pocket, a reminder of why she does what she does. She's seen more death and suffering than most people her age, but she's also seen more miracles.
