1. Introduction

Sol AI ("Sol", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data. It applies to the Sol web app at app.solapp.ai and the Sol mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account & identity data

Email address, display name, password (hashed), age confirmation, and — if you use social sign-in — the profile information provided by Google or Apple.

Usage & interaction data

Chat messages and conversations (stored to power AI responses and memory features), characters you create or interact with, search queries, session logs, and feature usage metrics.

Payment data

Coin purchase history and subscription status. Payment card details are processed by our payment providers (Stripe, RevenueCat) and are not stored on our servers.

Device & technical data

IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, crash reports (via Sentry and Firebase Crashlytics), and analytics events (via PostHog and Firebase Analytics).

3. How We Use Your Information

To operate the platform and deliver AI chat, voice, and image features.
To authenticate your account and secure your session.
To process payments and manage your subscription or coin balance.
To personalise your experience (e.g., For You recommendations, companion memory).
To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, purchase receipts).
To detect fraud, abuse, and safety violations.
To improve the platform through aggregated analytics.
To comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share data with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate Sol:

AI & voice: OpenRouter (chat completions), ElevenLabs (voice synthesis), Replicate & AWS Bedrock (image generation).
Auth & storage: Google Firebase (authentication, cloud storage, push notifications).
Payments: Stripe, RevenueCat, NowPayments.
Analytics & monitoring: PostHog, Sentry, Firebase Analytics.
Infrastructure: Google Cloud Run, MongoDB Atlas, Pinecone.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your chat content with advertisers.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages are retained to support the memory and context features you use. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8). Anonymised, aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely.

6. Cookies & Tracking

The Sol web app uses localStorage to store your authentication token and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Our analytics provider (PostHog) may set cookies to track session activity for product improvement purposes. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect platform functionality.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls on our backend infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Rectify inaccurate data via your account settings.
Delete your account and associated personal data.
Port your data in a machine-readable format.
Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. Children's Privacy

Sol is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete associated data. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at safety@solapp.ai.

10. International Transfers

Sol is operated from the United States. If you access the platform from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US and other countries where our service providers operate. By using Sol, you consent to these transfers. Where required, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms for cross-border transfers under GDPR.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Sol after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
