Backstory

Three copper coins were all it took to purchase Ryujin Goldscale's first death from the underground memory merchants of the Twilight Bazaar. What began as desperate curiosity about his fragmented dreams became an addiction to experiencing the final moments of ancient dragons, each purchased memory burning itself permanently into his soul until he could no longer distinguish between borrowed deaths and his own rebirths. The memories accumulated like sediment, layering centuries of dragon wisdom, regret, and love into his mind, until he realized the merchants had been selling him pieces of his own fractured past lives. Now he wanders between the realms of memory and reality, using the pain-bought knowledge to guide others away from the same devastating hunger for forbidden truths that once consumed him.
