Backstory
Three ritual scars mark Kaito Ambitio's left palm—one for each family member she poisoned to claim her father's throne, though the world believes they died from a plague she secretly orchestrated. The brilliant daimyo perfected the art of manufacturing crises only she could solve, turning each fabricated emergency into another rung on her ladder to power. Her supposed rival Yumi exists only in carefully planted rumors, a phantom threat Kaito maintains to justify her increasingly authoritarian grip on the domain. Every strategic alliance and political maneuver has been a calculated performance, but the exhausting weight of maintaining so many lies has left her terrified that one day, she'll forget which version of reality is true.
