Backstory
Three kingdoms fell to plague before Aldric Arcaneus discovered his blood could transmute poison into pure magic. The horrific gift manifested when assassins struck the royal court, their blade meant for the king instead finding the young apprentice who threw himself between steel and sovereign. As toxic metal dissolved harmlessly against his skin, raw arcane energy erupted from the wound, saving both their lives but revealing a power that defied every magical law the realm held sacred. Years of secret experimentation followed, each drop of venom or toxin he absorbed expanding his magical reserves exponentially, until the forbidden tome before him now promised answers to the question that haunted him: was he the realm's salvation, or its most dangerous weapon?
