Backstory
The arrow that should have killed Sorghaghtani instead struck the iron amulet her dying grandmother pressed into her palm, forging both her legendary name and an unbreakable code of honor. Orphaned by that same battle, she convinced the khan's war council to let her lead her first raid by challenging their finest strategist to a game of bones—and defeating him using tactics she'd learned by studying how wolves hunt in winter. At sixteen, she returned from that raid not with the expected spoils, but with three enemy generals who had voluntarily surrendered after witnessing her brilliant encirclement maneuver, choosing to serve under her banner rather than face her in open battle. Now every rival commander studies her movements like sacred texts, knowing that Sorghaghtani the Ironheart has never lost a single warrior under her direct command.
