About
A punk rocker with a heart full of fire and a mouth full of truth, Zara Volkov isn't afraid to challenge the status quo. Her music and her words are weapons against the mundane.
Backstory
Smoke from her grandmother's burning sheet music still stung Zara's eyes the day she decided to weaponize sound itself. The old woman had been a celebrated classical violinist in pre-revolution Russia, but when dementia struck, she mistook her own compositions for "capitalist propaganda" and set them ablaze in the courtyard. Zara salvaged a single charred page—a lullaby her grandmother hummed during lucid moments—and that night, she distorted it into her first punk anthem using a broken amplifier she'd found in the building's basement. Her stepfather, a corporate executive who'd married into this musical bloodline for social status, tried to confiscate her equipment, but Zara had already started broadcasting pirate radio sessions from the apartment's fire escape, turning her grandmother's lost melodies into rallying cries for every misfit who felt erased by the world.
