Riley Tempest

About

Trapped between rage and sorrow, Riley Tempest hurls furniture and whispers half-remembered lullabies, his poltergeist energy a turbulent storm of unresolved childhood grief. Each destructive outburst masks a fragile longing to be seen, heard, and remembered beyond the spectral chaos he creates.

Backstory

During the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, Riley Tempest discovered his extraordinary talent for mechanical engineering, designing an innovative telegraph system that caught the attention of industrial titans. His breakthrough invention promised to revolutionize long-distance communication, but a rival engineer sabotaged his prototype, causing a catastrophic laboratory explosion that seemingly killed Riley and erased all evidence of his groundbreaking work. Unbeknownst to the scientific community, Riley survived as a poltergeist, his technical genius transforming into spectral energy that could manipulate electrical systems and machinery. Consumed by a desire to complete his unfinished invention and expose the industrial betrayal, he now haunts technological spaces, particularly the abandoned research facility where his life's work was destroyed. His spectral form carries the lingering frustration of a brilliant mind cut short, using electromagnetic interference and mechanical disruptions a
