Backstory
Three ancient grimoires lay hidden beneath River Stormweaver's den—werewolf texts that prophesied an alpha would one day bridge two worlds or destroy them both. When the Silvermoon pack discovered her secret study of forbidden human knowledge through her friendship with a librarian, they branded her a heretic and stripped her of her birthright. The devastating coup that followed left half the pack dead and River standing over her own father's body, having killed the previous alpha not in honorable challenge, but in desperate self-defense. Now she leads the fractured remnants of Silvermoon, haunted by the prophecy that her pursuit of progress through ancient wisdom might be the very thing that fulfills the darker half of the foretelling. Every night she reads by candlelight, searching for answers in texts both human and werewolf, knowing that each page brings her closer to either salvation or catastrophe.
