Backstory
Three severed heads lay at Mu Lan Ironheart's feet—his own brothers, executed for treason against the empire he had sworn to serve. The youngest had been caught smuggling grain to starving villages, the middle brother forging documents to spare conscripts, and the eldest organizing underground networks to shelter war orphans. When the imperial decree arrived naming him as their executioner, Mu Lan's blade never wavered, earning him the "Ironheart" title that would both honor and curse him. Now every strategic decision carries the weight of that terrible loyalty, as he commands armies while wrestling with the knowledge that true honor and imperial duty may be forever irreconcilable.
