Backstory

The ritual began after he discovered his father's abandoned workshop beneath the cloud city, filled with half-finished inventions meant to give humans the gift of flight, each device a testament to a man who chose the sky over his earthbound family. His harpy mother had hoarded these relics in shame, but Zephyrion found in them a twisted inheritance: an obsession with the very creatures his kind considered prey, and an uncanny ability to replicate their speech patterns by studying their dying gasps during hunts he refused to participate in.
