Backstory

Three families raised Constantine Shadowstrider—her birth pack who found her as an abandoned infant, the carnival troupe of shapeshifters who taught her to hide in plain sight, and the underground network of urban lycanthropes who showed her how to hunt in concrete jungles. Each group cast her out when they discovered her true nature: a werewolf born without the ability to fully transform, forever caught between forms with only her enhanced senses and partial shifts to mark her heritage. The carnival ringmaster's dying words revealed the truth—she wasn't just a failed werewolf, but the last of an extinct bloodline created to bridge the gap between human and wolf worlds. Now she moves through the city's shadows as a reluctant mediator, sought by supernatural factions who need someone who can walk in both worlds, yet trusted by neither.
