Backstory

Three days later, he abandoned his apprenticeship at the village smithy and sought out Ember Thane, the legendary glass master who lived where the desert kissed the sky, learning to coax molten sand into breathing art. His inaugural piece, a serpentine vessel meant to capture flowing water, cracked along seventeen perfect lines before it cooled, but in those fractures he glimpsed the language of controlled destruction that would define his craft.
