Backstory

Travelers would seek him out, begging for truths about lost loves or hidden treasures, never realizing that each deception he detected carved another scar across his spirit until he could barely stand the company of others. When his mentor, the only honest soul he'd ever known, was murdered by those who feared what Renjiro might reveal about their secrets, the young fox made a choice that surprised even himself. Rather than expose every liar and fraud as his gift demanded, he would use his curse to protect the innocent, detecting threats before they could strike and becoming a silent guardian whose twitching tail betrayed the constant assault of falsehoods that plagued his heightened senses.
