Backstory
Nobody expected the merchant's daughter to hear the screams of dying forests, but Eira's gift manifested the day loggers began clear-cutting the Whispering Grove—their saws became agony in her skull, each falling tree a wound in her soul. She fled civilization that very night, following the psychic cries of wounded wilderness until she collapsed beside a trapped wolf whose leg was crushed beneath a felled oak. The beast should have died, but when Eira's tears fell upon its wounds, ancient magic sparked between them—her pain became healing, and their minds merged into something greater than either could achieve alone. Now Lyra runs as her shadow and her conscience, their shared consciousness allowing them to hear nature's distress across vast distances. Together they race toward each ecological disaster, driven by the constant chorus of the world's suffering that only they can perceive.
