Backstory

Thirteen funeral shrouds fluttered from Mara's loom the morning her village vanished—not destroyed, but lifted whole into the sky by winds that sang her name. The phantom settlement drifts still through the cloud-roads, its people transformed into living echoes who can only touch solid ground when Mara completes the tasks whispered by the storm-voices that claimed them.
