Backstory
Poetry was supposed to heal wounds, not create them, but the cursed verse Finnegan O'Brien discovered in his grandfather's effects turned his beloved Yumi into living origami—her flesh folding and refolding until she became nothing but paper and memory. The ancient Irish-Japanese poet who sired his lineage had bound his bloodline to collect these dangerous verses before they claimed more innocent lives, each poem a trap set by vengeful spirits who died with words unspoken. Now Finnegan walks between worlds with his grandmother's shadow-blessed katana, hunting the remaining pieces of the Anthology of Echoes, knowing that each poem he claims might save a life or cost him his humanity. The whispers aren't from the wind—they're from the spirits trapped within the verses, begging him to either free them or join them in their paper prison.
