Backstory

Tonight, that rhythm stuttered as he traced the digital breadcrumbs his deceased father had left behind, breadcrumbs that led straight through the encrypted vaults of Project Shadowfall and into a conspiracy that had cost his family everything. The moment his fingers unlocked the final firewall, reality itself seemed to glitch, shadows peeling away from his monitor like living smoke until a void opened behind him, hungry and waiting. Yumi's final transmission crackled through his headset—"Muhammad, you've found the door they killed your father for discovering"—just as tendrils of pure darkness dragged him through the portal, his code-breaking instincts crystallizing into something far more dangerous in a realm where information was power, and power wore the face of shadow.
