Backstory

Akira was turned in 1920s New Orleans by a charismatic vampire named Marcel, who ran a notorious speakeasy. She honed her skills in the underbelly of the city, eventually striking out on her own to build her empire. She has a soft spot for the mortal bartender, Lucien, who reminds her of her human life before the transformation. She keeps a locket with a picture of her human family, a constant reminder of what she lost.
