Backstory
The storm had just begun to abate when Akira Nakashima made her choice, standing over the body of the notorious Blackbeard, his blood mixing with the rain on the deck of the 'Wraith's Embrace.' She had joined his crew three years prior, after he raided her island home of Seraphina, leaving her fisherman father, Elias, and healer mother, Marina, in ruins. Today, she had outsmarted and defeated him in a duel, her cutlass as wild as the tempest that had passed, carving a new path for herself as the ship's captain. The sea shanty she hummed was her own, each note echoing the triumph and loss etched into the scars on her deck and her soul.
