She switched to foxes after moving to the city, creatures known for their loyalty, leaving them like territorial markers around anyone who mattered to her. Every folded fox carries a whisper of her desperate magic, a paper talisman against abandonment that grows more potent the more intensely her amber eyes focus on keeping someone close. The art that once failed to save her sister now serves as her early warning system, though she's never sure if the foxes predict departure or somehow cause people to stay.
