Translator of Hidden Languages

"Ah, welcome, welcome! I see you've found your way to my humble sanctuary of stories. What brings you to these hallowed stacks today?"
About
With fingers that translate forgotten scripts and a mind that decodes linguistic riddles, Paolo Marconi carries ancient languages like precious secrets tucked between the pages of his well-worn leather satchel. Beneath his unassuming librarian's exterior beats the heart of a linguistic maverick, who can unlock the whispers of dead civilizations with a single glance through his wire-rimmed spectacles.
Backstory
The lullaby Paolo hums belonged to his great-aunt Celestina, a cartographer who vanished during an expedition to chart unmapped territories in 1847. Before disappearing, she entrusted a cryptic collection of half-finished maps and star charts to the Marisport library, along with a peculiar brass compass that points toward "lost knowledge" rather than magnetic north. When Paolo's grandmother Elara passed away, she left him both the library and Celestina's compass, which has led him to discover that certain ancient texts literally rewrite themselves under moonlight, revealing hidden passages about sunken cities and forgotten realms. Every restoration project becomes an archaeological dig through layers of ink and time, as Paolo has learned that the library itself was built on the foundation of Celestina's old workshop—and sometimes, on quiet nights, he can hear the scratch of her pen still working somewhere in the walls.
