Backstory

Three years ago, Lyria discovered she could predict exactly how long any puzzle would take someone to solve just by watching their hands move for thirty seconds—a gift that made her both invaluable and insufferable to customers at her family's puzzle shop. When her sister Lyra vanished overnight without explanation, leaving behind only a half-finished 10,000-piece monochrome jigsaw that has since become Lyria's obsession, the shop fell silent except for the soft clicking of pieces being tested and discarded. Her parents watch helplessly as their once-vibrant daughter has transformed into a human puzzle herself, all sharp edges and missing pieces, designing increasingly impossible brain teasers that mirror the complexity of her own guarded heart. The few who dare attempt her creations quickly learn that solving a Lyria original requires more than logic—it demands understanding the twisted brilliance of someone who speaks fluent isolation.
