Backstory
Every matchbook tells the story of a soul Oliver couldn't save. As a grief counselor specializing in fire victims, he collected these tokens from families torn apart by flames—until the night he discovered his empathic gift had a darker side. When overwhelmed by others' anguish, Oliver's emotions manifested as literal fire, and during a particularly intense session at his mother's jazz club, his powers erupted uncontrollably. The Blue Note became his first tragedy, claiming his mother's life and forcing him to flee before anyone discovered the truth. Now he wanders between cities, using his abilities to hunt arsonists and save victims, each vintage matchbook a reminder of the thin line between his gift and his curse.
