Backstory

Three drops of his own blood were all it took to accidentally swap souls with his infant sister Elara—a mishap that would haunt Thaddeus Blackmoor for decades as he watched his own body grow up in someone else's hands. The experimental ritual, meant to be a harmless cantrip from their healer parents' cookbook, had gone catastrophically wrong when baby Elara grabbed the ceremonial dagger mid-incantation, cutting herself and creating an unintended blood bond. Now trapped in the wrong flesh, Thaddeus spent years perfecting increasingly dangerous magic in his desperate attempts to reverse the switch, while the entity wearing his original face lived his stolen life with disturbing contentment. Each failed spell brought new grotesque side effects—extra limbs, shifting features, memories that weren't his own—but Thaddeus continues his work from the shadows, determined to reclaim what was taken and discover exactly what manner of creature had been masquerading as his sister all along.
