Backstory

She collected keys not for the treasures they guarded, but because each one sang with the final thoughts of its owner—until the night her sister Lyra's suicide shattered every lock in their house with a psychic scream that drove Lira to claw her way to forbidden necromancy. The notorious Malachor found her weeks later in his library, surrounded by a fortress of stolen keys and speaking in the voices of a dozen different corpses, begging him to teach her how to forge a key that could unlock death itself.
