Backstory

The melody that poured from Celeste's throat wasn't her own—it belonged to something that had been sleeping in her bloodline for seven generations, waiting for a voice pure enough to wake it. When the tempest answered her unconscious call and devoured Elderglen's eastern quarter along with her grandmother Elara, Celeste realized the music box hadn't been teaching her lullabies—it had been teaching her to conduct storms. Now she sketches containment runes under the moon, humming counter-melodies to keep the entity in her voice from finishing what it started, her fingers still trembling every time she hears music drift through the night air.
