Backstory
Three drops of hemlock dissolved into aged bourbon was all that separated Sofia from becoming her family's perfect weapon. She chose mercy over murder that sweltering New Orleans night, watching a stranger sip the drink she'd deliberately diluted while her handlers waited in the shadows for confirmation of death. The Novikov syndicate's golden child vanished before dawn, trading assassination contracts for coffee beans in sleepy Meadowgrove, where she opened 'The Ember's Glow' as both refuge and watchtower. Her photographic memory now catalogs harmless gossip instead of kill orders, but the muscle memory of violence still coils beneath her friendly barista smile. Every regular customer becomes family worth protecting, every threat to her sanctuary a reminder of why she keeps a blade taped beneath the espresso machine.
