Backstory

She worked as Meadowgrove's traveling grief counselor, collecting the final words and deepest regrets of the dying while discretely harvesting samples from their medicine cabinets for her clandestine botanical experiments. His father Theodore, an estate liquidator, would return from clearing out the homes of the recently deceased with vintage postcards that had been tucked away in jewelry boxes and photo albums—last messages never sent, final words never spoken.
