Backstory
Nobody expected the merchant's daughter to survive three days chained in the demon's lair beneath Mount Fuji, let alone emerge with otherworldly abilities coursing through her veins. Chie Lombardi had entered those cursed depths as an ordinary girl seeking her missing sister Yumi, but the ancient entity that fed on human souls left her fundamentally changed—able to phase between shadows and solid form at will. She discovered Yumi's bones arranged in a ritual circle, her sister's spirit trapped to fuel the demon's power, and in her rage, Chie absorbed both the creature's essence and her sister's lingering consciousness. Now Yumi's voice whispers tactical advice during battles, while the demon's hunger drives Chie to hunt the supernatural predators that stalk innocent prey. Her katana bears the weight of two souls and thirsts for justice that transcends the mortal realm.
