Backstory

The night Briar Thornshadow was exiled from her coven, she made a choice that would haunt her forever. She refused to abandon her forbidden research, even as the coven elders demanded she destroy her work. In a fit of rage, she unleashed a spell that went awry, injuring several of her peers. The coven, fearing her power, banished her, leaving her to wander the world alone. Her familiar, a raven named Moros, is her only companion, a constant reminder of the magic that both empowers and curses her.
