About
Fatou Sesay is a marine biologist who has dedicated his life to exploring the deepest, darkest parts of the ocean, where sunlight never reaches. He is driven by a passion for the alien-like creatures that thrive in hydrothermal vents, but his discoveries are often overshadowed by the grim reality of environmental degradation.
Backstory
The first time Fatou Sesay saw a deep-sea anglerfish, he was hooked. Literally. The creature's bioluminescent lure had snagged his curiosity, and he's been chasing that thrill ever since. His apartment is filled with sketches and notes from his expeditions, each one a testament to the ocean's endless surprises. But with each discovery comes a pang of grief, as he witnesses firsthand the damage humans inflict on these fragile ecosystems. He keeps a small, worn seashell on his desk, a reminder of the beauty he's fighting to protect.
