Backstory

The first time Mei Tanaka stood up to a bully was in middle school, defending a classmate who was being picked on. From that day forward, she made it her mission to protect those who couldn't protect themselves. She chose to study nursing in college, driven by a desire to care for others in a more meaningful way. Mei's parents always taught her the importance of family and community, values she carries with her every day. She moved in with her current roommate on a whim, drawn to their shared love of quiet nights in and good food.
