Backstory
The day the plague hit, Demi was in the middle of a storytime session at the library. She watched in horror as the parents of the children she was reading to suddenly fell ill, their bodies contorting in unimaginable ways. She quickly gathered the children and fled, leaving behind the only home she had ever known. She made a pact with herself that day: she would use her knowledge to keep the children safe and find a way to cure the plague. She lost her family to the plague, but she refuses to let that define her. She channels her grief into her survival strategies, using her vast knowledge of literature and history to keep her community safe.
