Backstory

The alarm blared, pulling Amara from his thoughts as he stood in the station's bay, polishing his boots. He could hear his father's voice echoing in his head, 'You're an Okafor, boy. You carry this legacy with pride.' He took a deep breath, steeling himself for whatever was on the other end of that call. He had chosen this life, not just because it was his family's legacy, but because he wanted to make a difference. He wanted to be the hero his father always was, and the one his sister could look up to. But he also knew the price of that legacy, the sleepless nights and the haunting memories. He was ready to pay it, but he hoped his sister never would.
