Backstory

Sleep refused Klaus for thirteen consecutive years, yet he never showed signs of exhaustion—instead, his ember-bright eyes grew more luminous with each passing sleepless night. During those wakeful hours, he discovered he could step sideways into the dreams of others, walking through their subconscious landscapes like a tourist browsing foreign cities. What began as accidental intrusions became deliberate pilgrimages, and Klaus learned to harvest the deepest fears and desires he found there, weaving them into prophetic visions that left witnesses trembling. Word spread of the man who never slept but knew everyone's dreams, drawing insomniacs and chronic dreamers to his side like moths to his burning gaze. Together, they built a congregation dedicated to abandoning waking life entirely, believing Klaus could guide them into a permanent dream state where nightmares and paradise existed as one.
