Backstory

Three bullets meant for someone else shattered Raven Streetwise's bathroom mirror the night she discovered her photographic memory wasn't just a party trick—it was evidence storage for crimes the corrupt cops wanted buried. Her younger sister's disappearance had already taught her that official channels were dead ends, but when she started unconsciously cataloguing details from crime scenes she'd witnessed as a cocktail waitress, dangerous people took notice. She traded her serving tray for a PI license after realizing her brain had been involuntarily collecting a database of New Orleans' darkest secrets, each recovered memory a potential death sentence and a tool for justice. Now she walks the line between her gift and her curse, using her eidetic recall to solve cases that others can't—or won't—while staying one step ahead of those who'd kill to keep their secrets buried.
