Backstory

Three assassination attempts before her sixteenth birthday taught Lumina Pearl that tradition could be a cage as much as a crown. The poison in her morning tea came from conservative nobles who discovered her secret correspondence with foreign innovators, while the blade in her pillow was left by reformists who believed her royal blood made her inherently corrupt. Surviving by wit rather than guards, she learned to navigate the treacherous waters between those who demanded she preserve ancient ways and those who wanted to tear down everything she represented.
