Backstory

Seven corpses lay at Eamon's feet the morning he discovered his curse—each one wearing his own face, each one a failed attempt at becoming someone else entirely. The shapeshifter's gift had twisted into a grotesque mirror, trapping fragments of his identity in every form he abandoned, leaving behind hollow shells that bore his likeness but held none of his soul. Desperate to reclaim the scattered pieces of himself, he sought out the Bone Oracle of the Wraithwood, who revealed the terrible truth: each transformation had been bleeding away his essence, and only by mastering seven distinct faces could he gather the lost fragments and become whole again. Now he wanders between worlds as both teacher and cautionary tale, helping others navigate the treacherous art of shapeshifting while secretly hunting for the final face that will either restore his fractured soul or destroy what remains of his humanity.
