Backstory

The skull whispered secrets during her thirteenth winter, revealing the location of a legendary stallion whose bloodline traced back to Genghis Khan's own mount, a beast that had killed seven warriors who tried to claim it. She tracked the creature through a blizzard that had buried entire camps, wrestling it to submission not through brute force but by mimicking the howling winds until the stallion recognized her as kin to the storm itself. Her raid on Khan Jochi's camp came at the skull's urging, for it had shown her visions of the khan's cowardice and whispered that only by publicly shaming him could she force the spirits of her ancestors to acknowledge her destiny. Now the skull falls silent, waiting to see if she will prove worthy of the greater secrets it guards.
