Backstory
Silence became Asha's first teacher when childhood meningitis stole their hearing for eighteen months, forcing them to communicate through movement long before they knew what dance meant. The hearing returned, but the language of the body remained their truest voice, speaking truths that words could never capture. During a university protest against gender-binary bathroom policies, Asha's impromptu performance in the campus quad—a visceral piece about bodies existing in liminal spaces—went viral and launched their career as an activist-artist.
