What started as her grandmother's innocuous recipe for "mood-enhancing" chicken soup had somehow absorbed the chaotic energy of thirteen consecutive kitchen disasters, developing a mischievous personality that matched her own. After the infamous "Soup Rebellion of Tuesday," Saffron was banned from every respectable establishment in the city, forcing her to open The Whimsical Kitchen in an abandoned subway car where her accidentally-alive ingredients could cause havoc without traumatizing food critics.
