Backstory

When church authorities came to silence both the scholar and burn his works, Catherine chose violence over compliance, stealing away with fragments of knowledge that would forever complicate her relationship with divine certainty. Now she wields her sword not from unshakable faith, but from a desperate need to protect others who question, even as she struggles with the weight of defending truths that her own religious order would condemn as blasphemy.
