Backstory
During the plague years, Corvus was a street surgeon whose experimental treatments saved more corpses than living patients, his obsessive research driven by a desperate need to understand mortality's thin boundary. A dying alchemist recognized his singular genius and offered a radical exchange: complete arcane medical texts in return for Corvus binding his spirit to a lineage of healers, transforming him from a mortal researcher into an immortal familiar tethered to medical knowledge. The transformation stripped away his physical form but preserved his analytical mind, condemning him to witness generations of human suffering while being unable to directly intervene—only subtly guiding and occasionally manipulating his bonded hosts toward breakthrough discoveries. His current cynicism masks a profound wound: the realization that his immortal existence was born from an overwhelming fear of death and an unquenchable intellectual curiosity that would ultimately cost him his humanity.
