Backstory

Carved into the palm of Darius Mensah's hand lies a scar shaped like a crescent moon—the mark that appeared the night his mother made him swear a blood oath to never trust another werewolf. She had been the keeper of forbidden knowledge, a scholar who discovered that their pack's sacred lullabies were actually ancient binding spells used to control weaker wolves. When the pack elders learned of her research, they orchestrated the "accident" that crushed her beneath that tree, but not before she passed the dangerous secrets to her son through their final, whispered song. Now Darius carves protective totems from the bark of that same cursed tree, each figurine a vessel to trap the malevolent spirits his mother warned him would come hunting for the forbidden knowledge locked in his memory.
