Backstory

Nobody believed a street mime could transition to dramatic acting, but Sofia proved them wrong after spending three years performing silent Shakespeare outside Bucharest's National Theatre, perfecting the art of conveying raw emotion without words. She funded her move to Los Angeles by selling handwritten performance journals to tourists, each one filled with her observations about human nature gleaned from studying passersby during her mime performances. Her breakthrough came when director Hiroshi Nakamura discovered her performing King Lear's death scene in complete silence outside a coffee shop, leading to her starring role in his indie film 'Echoes of Silence.' The transition from wordless performance to speaking roles left her with a compulsive need to rehearse dialogue aloud, often retreating to her Hollywood Hills apartment where she fills journals with character studies, her ink-stained fingers a remnant of her street performing days.
