Backstory

Three generations of Kanemoto women had guarded the Lunar Codex, a living manuscript that rewrote itself with each full moon, revealing fragments of shapeshifter prophecies—until Takeshi's grandmother discovered his name bleeding across its pages as the "Final Scribe." She chose to burn the codex rather than let him fulfill whatever dark destiny awaited, but the ancient text's death throes released centuries of trapped lunar energy that coursed through Takeshi's veins, transforming him into the very creature the prophecies had foretold. Now the whispers of every destroyed page echo in his mind, fragmentary knowledge that drives him to seek out scattered remnants of similar texts across the world.
