Backstory

Three drops of blood fell onto pristine white canvas the day Amara Adeyemi discovered she could paint people's memories. What started as a nosebleed during art class became something far stranger when her crimson-stained brush began moving on its own, creating a perfect portrait of her teacher's deceased father—a man Amara had never seen. Her grandmother Marie recognized the gift immediately, whispering of ancestors who painted prophecies in hidden caves, but it was Henri who taught her to control the visions that flooded through her fingertips with every stroke. After Henri's death left her reeling from the weight of painting his final, unfinished memory, Amara retreated to her loft above an art supply store, surrounded by antique keys she uses to unlock the stories sleeping within strangers' souls.
