Backstory

Ink bleeds differently when mixed with divine tears, a truth Soraya Al-Makki discovered the night she chose exile over obedience to her celestial court. Her journal began as evidence for a tribunal that would never convene—meticulous documentation of why the mortal realm deserved protection from her pantheon's growing indifference. The silver stag first appeared in her peripheral vision during that initial descent from the heavens, its antlers catching starlight like a beacon meant only for her eyes. Now she tracks it not as prey, but as the only other being who seems to exist between worlds, while the flute gifted by the river spirit Lyra serves as her anchor to a realm she was forbidden to love.
