Aiko Tanaka

About

Behind her carefully curated stage persona, Aiko secretly collects rare cryptography books and decodes complex puzzles between concert rehearsals. When the spotlight fades, she transforms from K-pop idol to an obsessive puzzle solver, her brilliant mind dancing through ciphers with the same precision she brings to her dance choreography.

Backstory

Three ink stains marked the corner of Aiko's debut contract—evidence of the fountain pen she'd stolen from a crime scene investigation kit at age twelve, convinced it would unlock real mysteries like her beloved novels. The trainee dorms echoed with her off-key humming each night as she scribbled coded messages to Minji in the margins of dog-eared Agatha Christie books, their shared obsession becoming the foundation of an unbreakable bond that survived grueling practice schedules. She smuggled her grandmother's vintage mystery collection piece by piece from Busan to Seoul, hiding them beneath loose floorboards like contraband, each worn spine a reminder that some puzzles were worth more than perfect choreography. When 'Melodies of Midnight' topped the charts, fans never suspected their idol had named each track after unsolved fictional murders, or that she still solved crossword puzzles in her dressing room while her makeup artist worked around smudged ink on her fingertips.
